While rewatching the opening of "Revenge of the Sith," I mused about how George Lucas chose to show futuristic vessels battling like 19th century ships. I thought back to the Trafalgar scene from "That Hamilton Woman," and voila.

I took the famous "Show me" scene from the movie "Christine" (John Carpenter) and set it to the track "Resurrection" from the "Hellraiser" soundtrack (Christopher Young).

I decided to try to take clips from the great 1960 movie "Sink the Bismarck!" and set it to rather epic sounding music. Enjoy.

Uploaded for archival purposes. From the old "It Came from Public Domain" account where Stanburdman lets Judekhanzo and Invisible Crane do some riff tryouts. Invisible Crane ends up winning by letting Judekhanzo self-destruct.

Star Wars a la The Dam Busters

The idea had been suggested by a couple of people who saw my "Dam Busters a la Star Wars" movie, which was to do the reverse - show the Trench Run scene from Episode IV and put the audio to "The Dam Busters" with it. I had been avoiding it until last night when I got the creative spark and went about it. Audio and music is from the old British film "The Dam Busters." Video is from "Star Wars Ep...

Star Wars a la The Battle of Britain
German girls!
Who were the officers ?
I don’t think it was the planes, it was the pilots of the spitfire. That made the difference.
To me, the most impressive scene of the movie is when Shaeffer is sneaking up on the radio operator who is twirling the dial of his massive radio through stations to find something good to listen to. The music fades in and out while the radio adds some loud buzzing, hum and static and in a moment becomes clear for a few seconds. The operator finally gives up, the floorboard creaks under Shaeffer’s weight and the battle is on!
Saw this at the cinema, late 60’s or early 70’s. A double bill, with For Whom the bells toll. I’m 65 now.
5.34. Goering : I can see a man on the beach eating an ice cream
In the director's commentary, the director tells a story where Don Cheadle asks why he lived when others had bigger roles. He told him maybe you should think about that when you're on top of the hill.
The depiction of the planning make this movie an excellent study in organizational groupthink and organizational inertia. It should be studied in business schools, military schools or any that teaches organizational skills. The briefings are the best part.
A fantastic storyline and film, but to me probably the best ending of any film
10 days of uphill battles and once you're there, Charlie is gone on vacation, but well that was Nam
Omg so damn hilarious.
In 2002 I flew to Amsterdam, took an early train to Arnhem and spent hours just walking around, taking in everything I could see and touch. I climbed under the rebuilt bridge and at one point put my hands into the fast flowing river. It is still fairly easy to find the spots where allied soldiers had taken up positions and where the survivors had awaited evacuation. Back in Amsterdam, I visited Anne Frank's apartment, where again I softly touched every item that she must have touched. I had not taken ten paces after leaving the building, when the local church bells started chiming, 'Abide With Me' and the tears flowed. 😟
The music killed me lmao
This is why Britain is about to elect an Hamas-supporting government on 4 July.
American paratroopers were trained to fight with all weapons, including German weapons, too. When the 82nd captured the Nijmegen bridge and the British tankers refused to advance, the American Major, Julian Cook, that led the assault said if they were American troops in Arnhem, his troops would have forced the British tankers out of their tanks and would have attempted to relieve them.
Excellent 👍
“You’re entitled to nothing.”
'Have you ever been liberated'? 'I've been divorced twice, does that count?' 'Yes, that counts'.
Clints a bit old for a lieutenant isnt he ? ,,,,and Burtons stretching it for a Major ( 42 ) ,,,,
Brilliant.
Eine bessere Filmmusik für einen Kriegsfilm kann es nicht geben...
Intelligence. Counter intelligence. Double agents. Even triple agents for awhile.
Hate moves mountains
You are right films well made in them days 1945,,1990,, not that good to 2024,, rubbish to day Shafer MTB 😮😅
😊 they all steal stuff😊,., don't tell anyone😊B of B is still the gold standard of original machine, non CGI Ariel combat❤+(8th biggest airforce in the world for 1967😊)
Vesuvius❤
Ike should have gone with Patton instead of Monty. Patton didn’t fool around.
Another implausible scene from the movie ..guess that,s why I treat the whole film as a comedy
A classic action movie, with a great soundtrack. I saw it in the theater when it was first run, and have had it in my collection since VHS days. Watched it more times than I can remember. I always enjoy it when the plane throttles up (2:05) to just make it over the pass. A nice touch of realism.
“Remember, the RAF will be with you…always.”
It’s always been one of my dreams since I was a kid to go to the Houghton Library at Harvard to read his letters especially after I watched this movie when I was 7. Colonel Shaw was true blue! He didn’t want to make history and turned down the position, Regimental command of the 54th MA I believe, 3 times, but history made sure he was included! Crazy!
Love Harry Enfield's parody of it. Everyone staggering around pissed.
a godamn great movie with a majestic classic soundtrack!
Literally all the British did since WW2 started was just harass the shit outta the Germans lmao
Makes me wonder if the Red Baron (Manfred von Richthofen)survived WW1 and became the chief of the Luftwaffe instead of Göring. May have been a different story that thankfully didn’t come to pass.
An interesting thought indeed... but remember that combat prowess does not necessarily mean organisational and managerial prowess.
I’ve often wondered if the Nazis actually hated the Jews or if they just saw them as a way to power. And the Jews just weren’t important enough to worry about. Just the way Republicans-and some “progressives”-are willing to sacrifice people that just aren’t that important.
They hated them, like most Europe at that time and like most of the Muslim world today. This hatred can be seen as strange for 21th century Westerners, but it can be understood (not justified, but understood) by closed Jews were in Europe at that time, how they held a lot of power while not being bound by nationhood. They were basically seen like a foreign ruling class.
hola!!! tengo una pregunta ¿como se llama la pelicula ? saludos.
Galland never said this to Goring.
But its good it riles you though.

That aircraft in the opening (Junkers Ju 52) crashed unfortunately in 2018 here in Switzerland in the alps.
Standout theme that really stirs the blood! Films pretty good too . . .
Why do you feel it is racist?

Britain and its defunct empire was only a satellite of the United States by late 1940. Britain did not have the ability to defeat Germany. The USSR did, at the Battle of Moscow.
"Britain did not have the ability to defeat Germany." North Africa would like to speak to you. beaten by the British army, air force and navy with a small amount of US help, Much like how the Russians stopped your heroes in front of Moscow.
@@walterkronkitesleftshoe6684 The North African Campaign was a sideshow, and it was won by the US. We should have allied with the Axis against the only threat.
@@walterkronkitesleftshoe6684 British and Commonwealth forces were defeated everywhere in North Africa until the US was involved.

Kenneth Branagh is he same as this as in everything he do. He is no more versatile than Sean Connery.
So you are saying this portrayal as Heydrich is the same as his portrayal as Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter? If you are, you are a moron.
